Recipe-Poppy Seed Chicken Casserole

Poppy Seed Chicken Casserole

This is my grandma's recipe and it's a family favorite. It can be served alone or with rice.

4-6 chicken breasts
10 oz. Cream of celery soup
10 oz. Cream of mushroom soup or cream of chicken soup
dash of salt
1 cup sour cream
1 stick margarine
1 sleeve town house crackers (crumbled)
2 Tbsp poppy seeds
1/2 cup silvered almonds.

1) Simmer chicken in salted water for about 45 minutes.

2) Cool and cut or shred into bite size pieces.

3) In large bowl mix the sour cream and soups together. Then add the chicken and mixture well. Pour into a 13 X 9 greased pan.

4) Melt the stick of butter. Place the crumbled crackers in a small bowl and add the poppy seeds and almonds to them. Then pour melted butter over top and mix thoroughly.

5) Place the cracker mixture on top of the chicken and soup mixture already in the baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
