Thursday Thoughts

Thursday Thoughts

- Looking forward to dying Easter eggs this weekend with the kids and some friends...ok lets be realistic I will be doing 90% of the work if not all.

-Not only is Sunday St. Patricks Day, but also selection Sunday for the NCAA tournament. Last year I made these yummy shamrock cupcakes for St. Patty's day maybe I'll make them again or try something new. Any suggestions???

-I'm loving daylight savings time right now solely for the fact that it is still dark out when I get off work in the morning. Instead of taking 10 minutes to fall asleep it takes 2 minutes when its dark out. When I was changing the clocks on Sunday Hendrix asked me what I was doing so I told him. He promptly tried to say the word clock...lets just say he is having some pronunciation issues.

-One of my techs is leaving for a new job and he wants me to throw him a luau for his going away party. I need some Hawaiian food suggestions!!!

-I finally ordered a pair of smaller jeans. I played it safe and got one size smaller. Really hope they fit since I ordered offline because lets be honest taking two small child in a dressing room just ain't going to work. Last time I took just Hendrix clothes shopping with me he crawled under the door and took off which resulted in me chasing after him half naked...while 6 months pregnant. Nobody wants a repeat of that scene.

    1. So for starters I work 14-15 shifts a month. I work 10 hour shifts 10pm-8am(except I usually leave at 730 because we don't get a legit "lunch break" so leaving early takes that into account). I'm full time with salary and benefits, but I don't actually work 160 hours a month. I also work my nights in big chunks like 4 or 7 nights in a row. On the nights I work my husband takes the kids to daycare. He works a regular M-F 7-330 job so he drops them off on his way to work and then picks them up on the way home. So I typically sleep from about 8 or 9 till they get home at 4.

I'm a huge night owl and love nights so I love this schedule plus I'm home a lot with the kids..sorry for the long explanation.

  2. Hawaiian party... hmmm... fruit skewers/salad, pulled pork sandwiches (instead of a "pig roast"), fresh veggie tray, mini lava cakes (hmmm... those might be way too much work. Maybe just a regular cake, have them put a volcano on the top in icing!)

Clothing shopping has gotten much easier since my kids started school! Good luck with the new jeans!
