Thursday Thoughts

-I'm so excited for our garden this year. Some new things we are going to try to grow are carrots, radishes, peas, onions, white pumpkins, honey dew, cantaloupe and spaghetti squash. Some things we grow every year are corn, green beans, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, sweet potatoes, and zucchini. We have tried watermelon the last couple of years and we can never get it to grow so I think we are going to give up on it unless someone has some suggestions. We also usually grow broccoli, lettuce, and cauliflower, but have decided to skip that this year so we can try some new things.

-I really hope Louisville wins it all after that gruesome leg injury. If they can win after losing one of their best players then they deserve to win it all.

-I'm finally caught up on Teen Mom 2. Man those girls are a train wreck, but seriously Kailyn stop asking your son if he wants you to marry Javi. He doesn't know what your talking about. He is only saying yes because he knows a total of 5 words and "yes" just happens to be one of those 5.

-We are considering setting up a rain barrel to catch water to use for our garden to try and save some money. Does anyone have any experience in this or know where to get some good information on the best way to set one up? I looked on Pinterest an didn't see any stellar ideas.

-My grandma's church puts on a tea every year the first weekend in April and I'm going for the food. I hate tea and I will most likely be the youngest person of the 200 people there, but trust me the food is totally worth the trip. I think there is also a key note speaker, but I don't know who it is this year.

  1. Hey - found you over at Ramblings. I, too am looking at a Rain Barrel for this summer. I found a cool one at Home Depot that also acts as a planter. I was looking for something unique. Have you found any unique ones?

    1. Sadly I haven't found any unique ones, although I do like the idea of a planter one. None of the big box stores like menards or lowes carries them in stock around us either. You have to order them online and shipping takes 2-4 weeks. Of course I just thought about setting one up and the "rainy" season for us is April and May, so ordering one now would be pointless. I think my husband is going to try to make one out of a sturdy trashcan by adding a spigot to the bottom. I'll report back on how this goes!!

  2. i hate tea, too! in fact, april trash & treasure giveaway is all tea. HAHAHAHAHA!

I painted A's nails this morning with avery (hot pink). i gotta snap a picture!

  3. As you know, I also hate tea!

And your garden sounds amazing! tell me, have you had much luck growing broccoli and califlower? Ours starts out good and then turns funky. Is there something we are doing wrong?

    Thanks for linking up!
