A while back I posted on Instagram some taco seasoning I had mixed up and several people asked for the recipe. So here it is...better late than never right? In my defense I didn't need to make any until last week when I ran out.
1/2 cup Chili Powder
3 Tsp Onion powder(I actually use 2 tsp onion powder and then 1/4 cup minced dried onions)
3 Tsp Garlic powder
3 Tsp Cumin
3 Tsp Oregano
2 Tsp Salt
2 Tsp Pepper
1 Tsp Paprika
1 Tsp Red Pepper Flakes(you can omit this or add more depending on your heat preference)
Just mix all the spices together and place in an airtight container. I use a mason jar to store ours and the recipe makes almost a 1/2 pint full. I just some before I took the picture below.
Use 2-3 Tbsp per 1lb of meat. The meat we cook with is typically pretty lean so I add about 1/4 cup of water also. I love knowing what's in our food and the lower sodium content then the commercial packets.
