Some how our fall wreath from last year got thrown away...I'm blaming that on Hubs. I decided to make a Halloween wreath this year because we typically decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving anyway so my door wont be empty once I take this down shortly after Halloween. I have perfected my rolled fabric flowers since I made my patriotic wreath that I used all summer, so I decided to make more of those to use in orange, black and white.
Here's what you will need:
Fabric for the fabric flowers
So first I painted the wooden letter all black front and back. Then I traced it onto a piece of Halloween scrapbook paper. Make sure you if you are tracing it on the back of the paper that you reverse your letter...yes I made this mistake. Then modge podge the paper on the wooden letter.
In between coats of paint and applying the scrapbook paper I worked on making my fabric flowers. Here's the tutorial I used, but honestly they just take practice to perfect them. Once you get them down pat though you can pretty much add them to anything.
After my letter was dry I used black ribbon to attach it to my grapevine wreath.
Then I started to attach all my fabric flowers, which took me awhile to get them how I wanted them.
|The flowers cover about 1/4 of the wreath.|
Hendrix broke my point and shoot so I was finally forced to use my nice camera that I've had for 2 years. I played with the settings a lot while taking these pictures and hopefully I get the hang of it soon. Until then ignore my photography skills.
